Notre Dame’s Home Away from Home football game each season provides an excellent opportunity for young alums to get together and network. As such, the NDAA hosts a young alumni social at a popular location in the host city. Usually held the night before the game, the social provides specials and a central location for young alums to congregate.
Young alums can subscribe to the Young Alumni Lenten Reflection series. If they do so, they will receive weekly emails containing the Sunday Gospel and a thoughtful reflection written by one of their peers. The emails also include questions and actions for the week, encouraging young alums to further their spirituality during the Lenten season.
The Young Alumni Day of Prayer takes place on Ash Wednesday each year. To start off the Lent season, young alums submit prayer requests for this day. Notre Dame alumni, staff and students gather at the Grotto to pray the Rosary and offer these prayer intentions, while young alumni around the world are urged to pray from wherever they are on this day.
Bowl Game Watch
While many young alumni love to travel to the bowl host city to support the Notre Dame Family, they may not have secured a ticket for the game. As such, we like to provide a fun, local location for young alumni to come together and watch the Bowl Game together. This past January, young alums gathered at the Clevelander in South Beach to watch the Irish take on Alabama.
Summer in the City
This event is open to all alums but has historically had a great turnout from young alums. Summer in the City is a full weekend of events in Chicago each summer. From a Welcome Happy Hour to a networking reception to a service project to a boat cruise on Lake Michigan and more, the weekend offers many opportunities to have fun and serve with fellow alums.
